Dr. Yuryk earned a degree in molecular, developmental, and cellular biology from the University of Washington, then completed dental school in Illinois after growing up in Chicago. A connection made during those years led to joining the Nazarian family practice here in Shelby Township.
Dentistry brought together a lifelong set of strengths: hands-on work, a creative streak, and a genuine talent for taking care of people. It is a career that makes a real difference in someone’s life, and that combination is what made the choice an easy one.
The most rewarding part of the job is the connection built with patients — and the chance to offer guidance and education about what shows up in the oral cavity. The mouth is the entry point to the rest of the body, and whole-body wellness is the goal for every patient who comes through the door.
Outside of dentistry, the priority is staying active: running, reading, time in a hammock, and grilling, plus a tiny dog who comes along just about everywhere. Travel is a constant, as is community — local fitness classes and trivia nights are as much about meeting people and lifting spirits as anything else.
