Dental Implants That Look Natural: A Top Concern for Every Patient

We work with many patients who are looking to replace missing teeth and improve their smile. Because dental implants are today’s gold standard for tooth restoration, this is often the best option.

We recognize that patients want implants that will look natural, which is why this article will address any concerns you might have about the look of dental implants.

A Superior Alternative to Dentures

For hundreds of years, dentures were the best and only way to fill unwanted gaps in one’s mouth due to injury, tooth decay, or other factors. And although the materials and construction of dentures has immensely improved from their original designs made from wood, ivory, or even animal teeth, dentists can now offer another superior alternative to dentures altogether: dental implants.

There are many reasons for choosing dental implants over dentures, but one important reason is that implants simply look more natural. With dental implants, you’ll never need to worry about your teeth falling out at inopportune or embarrassing moments, as can sometimes occur with dentures.

In addition, implants are permanent and meant to function just as any of your natural teeth. This means they are easier to clean than dentures because they require the same care as your natural teeth.

Dentures, on the other hand, must be removed frequently for cleaning and care. The easier your teeth are to care for, the better your smile will be.

Enjoy Healthier Bone Structure

Not only do dental implants look natural, but they also support a healthy bone structure. Once a tooth is missing, the bone that would normally support the root of the missing tooth may recede, causing your jaw bone to slowly shrink.

Over time, especially for those with multiple missing teeth, a shrinking jaw bone can change the shape of your face.

Dentures only sit on top of the jawline and do nothing to prevent bone loss. Implants, however, require a titanium post that is inserted into the jaw bone. This post gives the jaw bone something to hold onto and a reason to remain strong.

By choosing implants, you are not only choosing a natural look for your smile, but also one which ensures the overall health of your mouth and jaw bone for your lifetime.

Specifically Designed for your Unique Smile

Your implants are specifically designed for you. Unlike clothes at your favorite retailer, implants do not come in pre-packaged small, medium, or large sizes. Your dentist will not be squeezing a squared-shaped tooth into a round-shaped hole.

Dental implants are quite the opposite. Three-dimensional imagesare taken of your mouth to help plan and prepare for the implants that would best fit your smile.

Not only that, Dr. Nazarian’s implant process includes a revolutionary software system to take these 3D images to plan every step of the surgery, determine the precise placement of your implant, and create a surgical guide to ensure correct placement of implants on the day of surgery.

Implants are designed to match the specific shape of your mouth and teeth, guaranteeing a good bite and perfect fit. The color of each implant is also designed to match the rest of your teeth, giving you a smile that you can be proud of.

Our goal is to make the implants match your natural teeth so well that no one can tell the difference…not even you.

Leave with New Teeth

Once the dental implant process has begun, the titanium posts will likely need 3-6 months to fully heal and integrate with the jaw bone before teeth can be placed.

But don’t worry, you will not be sent away with holes in your mouth and posts sticking out of your gums. In most cases, a temporary tooth will be placed on the implant before you leave our office.

After you have fully healed, an Osstell meter will confirm osseointegration of your implant, and a permanent tooth will replace the temporary tooth. This process will ensure that your new teeth are placed in such a way that is secure and enduring.
